The “Design Guidelines for Energy-efficient Multi-storey Residential Buildings for Warm-Humid climate” was inaugurated on 28th November 2016 by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines at the BEEP International Conference on Energy Efficient Building Design.

The design guidelines provide 14 recommendations on energy-efficiency features for consideration at the design stage of multi-storey residential buildings. Listed below are the six sections under which these recommendations are featured in.

 

i. Building massing and spatial configuration (Recommendations 1–2) 
ii. Building envelope (Recommendations 3–5) 
iii. Space cooling (Recommendations 6–9) 
iv. Appliances (Recommendation 10) 
v. Common services (Recommendations 11–13) 
vi. Renewable energy integration (Recommendation 14)
 
The guidelines are aimed at builders, developers, architects and other building-sector professionals involved in the design and construction of multi-storey residential buildings.
