Chapter 4: Building Envelope

This chapter presents the results of the thermal performance and daylighting analysis of typical spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms. It discusses the impact of various building envelope features, like window–wall ratio, wall insulation, external fi nish of the wall, window design, and shading systems, on the thermal performance and daylighting of the building, and provides recommendations from an energy-efficiency perspective.
